Lovely

Lovely Fairy-wren

female

Iron Range National Park, Queensland, Australia

My only pic of a Lovely Fairy-wren in far north-east Queensland. Notice her ring on the right foot?

They are very shy and difficult to get close to. This image was originally photographed in a very dark area at a very hight ISO then processed with a noise reducing filter.

I remember the Fairy-wrens from my visit to Australia. Stunning little birds. Good effort, Russell.

WOW, well done!
That is thrilling when the bird is rare!
Its name is well chosen!
To capture this bird a second time to check out the ring must be close to impossible...
Too bad the number cannot be read, I bet the ringers would have been quite interested to know when and where you saw it!
Fantastic!

An obviously well named bird to look like that Russell, and a well captured shot of such a small bird. It might be woth Googling to find out who is ringing Fairy Wrens close to or futher from your locality.
