Wonderfully Wigeon

Wigeons are not in the numbers as pintails at Hyoko but there is a sprinkling of them about the place.

You got some great photos of this species Russell.

It is pretty common up here but mainly in autumn when they seem to be shy and are in drab eclipse plumage, in winter there area few bobbing around offshore and indeed there is a lone drake on the river near my flat now......

Here in the south, wigeon is much more numerous than the pintail! Lovely shots of the birds while landing. I could never get a shot like that.
