A Line of Painted Ladies

Cockatiels
Darling Downs, Queensland, 2007
Pentax K10 + Sigma 28-300mm

Some snaps of Cockatiels taken just the last few years. A popular pet, it is nice to see them in the wild. Like many parrot species, they are so social.

Nice shots Russell but being so exotic they do look better on a blue sky day. Just occasionally I might se an escaped on in the garden or elsewhere but not "tickable" obviously.

How cool is that?!
I had one as a pet a long time ago. It would be so amazing seeing so many in the wild like that.

I've only seen them as pets. They're really cute. Can't imagine how much cuter they are in the wild. Their shapes in flight remind me a bit of falcons, though.

Great to see parrots in the wild... I remember my excitement at seeing a flock of Galahs in Queensland, just wonderful.
