Red-necked Avocets

Maybe earlier last year...or the year before...


Here's some pictures of the very beautiful Red-necked Avocets with a sprinkling of Black-winged Stilts in amongst them.

This was on a nice day out with Kev and Kay Williams and Michael Atzeni of the Toowoomba Bird Observers Club.

I agree with Stuart. We've been having them mixed with Banded Stilts at Werribee lately.

Wow! Those are different Russell. Those would create a stir at Leighton Moss where the Avocets take over the pools each year with their aggressive breeding behaviour. I wonder if the Red-necked have similar ways?
