coffee, cake, and eagle

Wedge-tailed Eagle

Preston Peak Wines, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia

January 8, 2014

We enjoyed coffee and cake at Preston Peak Wines on the last day of my last visit to Australia and this was the flight show just outside the window of the cafe.

Sad to hear the cafe is now closed. It was a nice farewell.

You say 'flight show' but it is wild, right? If so, wow...............

That's a great raptor ! Pity the cafe is closed, I would have thought they had a winning combination of food and wildlife there...

Sounds like a great threesome Russell. Your pictures really capture the raw power, speed and size of the eagle.

I'm sure that a little appropriate advertising could fill the cafe with birders.

What a wonderful show they put on for you. Unfortunately there seem to be closures in many small country places etc.

well I'd call that one of my lucky days if it'd been me Russell. A two-fold delight happening, to sight the eagle AND to grab the photos, but then to sit back in sheer delight and indulge in coffee and cake, what a day!
