I've always dreamed of seeing the Pink-eared Duck. It's such an outstanding species.
Russell, I think the thing about Australian birds is that to me on the other side of the world, I dont seem able to assign any of them to recognisable families over her. If I came over/round to Australia i'd have to start birding all over again. That's a great shot of the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo calling in flight - neaest we have is escaped Ring-necked Parakeets establishing themselves in the wild.
Fantastic photos. The Grey Fantail is beautiful. The Pink-eared Duck is a great sighting, I am yet to see these! I like the scrub turkey image also.... mostly because they always look so funny and heavy when up in the trees!
